Lovingly holding it down in a back alley in Patagonia, the Queen of Cups is known for artisanal, clean, low-intervention wines.
What do you get when a winemaker and an appreciator of good things to eat have a dream of wine, friends and food coming together in a cozy, unpretentious space? You get Emmett and Lily and the Queen of Cups, a winery that focuses on low-intervention wines from local grapes located both in Arizona and Sonora.
The tasting room is open on Friday from noon to 10 and on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6. A standard tasting costs $13 and includes 1oz sips of 5 different wines—usually one white, one rosé, and three reds. They also offer small plates that pair perfectly with your wine of choice.
Their approach may be unconventional, with reusable bottles, crown caps, and decorative hang-tag labels, but their happy customers attest to their success.
The venue is as unique as the owners and is available for private events. Drop them a note and they’ll help you make plans.
If you can’t make it to Patagonia, no worries…you can purchase their 2022 vintage wines online to enjoy in the comfort of your own home. Head over to their website to make that happen.
