How To Get Here


The Sky Islands are located approximately 50 miles south of Tucson, and best accessed by scenic highways 83 and 82.

 

From Tucson

Approximate Driving Time: 1 hour

Take 1-10 East, toward El Paso. Approximately 17 miles east of Tucson, get off at the Highway 83 exit–Sonoita/Patagonia. Head south on Hwy 83 for 24 miles, to the stop sign at the crossroads of Hwy 83 and 82. This is the heart of Sonoita.

To reach Patagonia, turn right (west) on Hwy 82. Patagonia is 12 miles southwest of Sonoita.

From Phoenix

Approximate Driving Time: 2 1/2 – 3 hours

Take I-10 East, toward Tucson. After passing the downtown area, go approximately 17 miles east of Tucson and get off at the Highway 83 exit–Sonoita/Patagonia. Head south on Hwy 83 for 24 miles to the stop sign at the crossroads of Hwy 83 and 82. This is the heart of Sonoita. To reach Patagonia, turn right (west) on Hwy 82. Patagonia is 12 miles southwest of Sonoita.

From Sierra Vista

Approximate Driving Time: 40 – 50 minutes

Take Hwy 90 north to Hwy 82 west. Go west approximately 25 miles to the intersection of Hwy 82 and 83. This is the heart of Sonoita. To reach Patagonia, continue on Hwy 82. Patagonia is 12 miles southwest of Sonoita.

From Nogales

Approximate Driving Time: 25 minutes

Take Hwy 82 north. In 19 miles you will reach downtown Patagonia. Please watch for speed limit! To reach Sonoita, continue on Hwy 82 for another 12 miles northeast to Sonoita.
