The concept of a free lending library has been around for a few years but the new one at the Tucson Audubon Paton Center is extra special. Why? Because it was a cooperative effort built by locals including the 6th – 8th grade Patagonia students plus grown-ups from the Patagonia Creative Arts Center and Borderlands Restoration Network.
Beautifully designed and constructed of hand made tiles and painted by a local artist, the little library will be stocked with nature themed books. It will be the perfect addition to one of the best birding areas in the Sky Islands.
